In thinking of the paper as a space of mental projection and a precious keepsake inscribed with hopes and intents for the future, I set about solidifying the ephemeral nature of the paper in glass with the intent to adorn it with words and sentences from ‘to do’ lists. The projector casts the handwriting in motion – the fluid contour of the lines resting on the papers surface but never embedding themselves to stand the test of time. In observing the piece in situe, the viewer becomes aware of the age and gender of the writer and more importantly the fleeting nature of time, which is embodied by the increasing speed of the handwritten words as we move from the present notes into the future.
