Momentum Gallery has represented my work from the very onset of establishing their space seven years ago. Highlighting nine wall-based and free-standing sculptures, including five new pieces born from my PhD research (2021-present) in dimensional cast mirrors, the exhibition brings together the full breadth of my 20-year practice. A triptych installation of fused glass ‘Lace’ (2008), which won the Pearson Glass Emerging Artist Award, while also being included in The Bombay Sapphire Glass Prize Exhibition, Milan, is suspended next to ‘Self-Contained Spray No. 14’’, the last remaining piece within a series of blown glass spray bottles encapsulating the hand-painted portraits of the idealised woman.
Momentum Gallery has continually advocated for my work, embracing the varied narrative and aesthetics to bring a heightened awareness of how glass can be pushed as a medium of artist expression that comms gaze through its inherent beauty while striving to touch on concepts relating to fundamental elements of life and the human condition. I feel honoured that Momentum has placed my work in the permanent public collections at the Huntsville Museum of Art, Alabama, and the Ringling Museum of Art, Florida.
